this has happened to me too on firefox! google has been consistently redirecting me to 7.7.7.0.

so i decided to run malware bytes anti-malware and it didn't detect anything. i searched my computer for wdmaud.sys copies and it found wdmaud.sys with various dates and various places. one was in C:windowssystem32wdmaud.sys. The date was April 2008. So I renamed it. Then I cleared my cache and that seems to have solved the problem. So what purpose does wdmaud.sys serve? and how do I know how to prevent this hijack? and is it truly a google hijacking? i don't know for sure.
