This year I decided to try my luck getting shots of fireworks up close instead of going to see one of the pro fireworks shows in town. So I walked around Kalihi for most of the night and found a couple of places that were launching aerial fireworks in the street. Overall, I’d say it was a lot more fun than dealing with the crowds in Waikiki or paying to get into one of the big NYE parties.
Once again the Ala Moana Shopping Center sponsored the best 4th of July fireworks display on the island. And best of all, one could get up close to see the show as long as you don’t mind walking a bit.
I last visited Haleakala a couple of years ago. This time, like the last time, it was raining on Maui but things cleared up once I got to the top of the mountain.
Too tired to write something. A very different Hallowbaloo than last year and quite an improvement too.
