Hallowbaloo 2012

Here’s the photos I took from an abbreviated Hallowbaloo street party courtesy of a tsunami evacuation. Luckily the tsunami did not do not any significant damage (as of this writing at least).

First Friday – August 2012

Once again the Hawaii Institute of Hair Design put on one helluva fashion show for First Friday. Afterwards, I took a different perspective to street photography with my monopod on Hotel St.

Hallowbaloo 2011 photos

Once again the streets of Chinatown were overrun with costumes and beer for the annual Hallowbaloo street party. I took a lot of pics and if you have one of my cards, I’ll e-mail you the high res pics.

If you are a dedicated cosplayer or model looking to collaborate, or if you just need a photographer, contact me here.

First Friday – December 2010

I wandered around Chinatown last night during First Friday and stumbled onto a fashion show at the Hawaii Institute of Hair Design. If you are one of the models or designers from the show, click through to the full photo set.

More delicious goodies from Little Oven.

National Dance Week Hawaii

My favorite pic from that night. National Dance Week Hawaii wrapped up with a dance off and a Choreographer’s Festival hosted at Fresh Cafe.

Iolani Palace

A quick snapshot of Iolani Palace as I was on my way to one meetup or another.

Cinco_de_Mayo_2010-3

I think this guy captured the Cinco de Mayo spirit better than the rest of the crowd that night.

Sometimes a random photowalk does pay off.

Honolulu building-1

I miss my Tokina 28-70mm. I need to get another fast, mid-range zoom. The 50mm doesn’t quite cover enough.

Punahou Jazz Band played at the Hawaii State Art Musuem for First Friday. The band was OK for a high school band, but their vocalist has a good set of pipes and knows how to work the stage.
